With temperatures around the 40deg mark it would have to be said ... Robert & I didn't spend too much time together THAT week.
Yes, yes ... all my die hard exercise fiend friends went off to their circuit classes and pushed weights, pummelled boxing thingys and told me of the virtues of the 'released endorphins' and 'sweatty kneecaps' and they DO have my admiration ... I am just not inspired by their stories.
I do THINK about their tales whilst lying prostrate on the floor under the ceiling fan with ice packs on my belly ... but the inspirations never strikes... I await the 'southerly'.
Ridiculously, on day 3 of said heat wave, my HUSBAND casually asks - whilst reclining in front of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - beer in hand ... "Doing Robert today?"
DOING ROBERT????
My immediate verbal response to him was swift and deadly -( I controlled the urge for any physical response) - to which he replied "Hey, I was only trying to be supportive and encouraging". !! Honestly. How stupid! I am sure that if Robert could speak to me without being turned on and plugged in HE would have asked "Doing ME today?" Simply because he is male.
Anyway. The heatwave passed, as did the night swims, and Robert was on my mind. After being away for such a time, I wasn't sure how I would be welcomed back.
As it was - Robert was just the same as usual. Boringly encouraging. Telling me I am doing 'great' and letting me know when to speed up and when to pace it out. Good Old Reliable Robert.
I actually felt better for my hiatus from the walks and took off up the stairs again for the first time in a year or so .. then listened to Robert and managed to actually RUN three times out of the seven he requires. That's what I like about Robert.
I can actually ignore him.
I managed the same track the next night .. up the stairs and a run down the hill and two more runs throughout the tape.
The next day. I couldnt walk.
Or the next.
Robert will have to wait a bit before I "DO' him again.
